Step 1: Pre-Treat with Snowy or White Vinegar

Mix one part white or snowy vinegar with one part water and pour it onto the stain. Gently use a sponge or cloth to scrub the spot until you’ve loosened up all the residue.

Step 2: Rinse Gently with Water

Before continuing on to next step, rinse the spot with lukewarm water and dry gently with a towel. Blotting rather than rubbing can help prevent the stain from spreading.

Step 3: Hand Wash

Fill a sink with lukewarm water, add a few drops of detergent and hand wash the stain for five minutes. Once finished, rinse the area with lukewarm water.

Step 4: Heat Setting Stained Area

Once you’ve washed the stain, place the pullover on an ironing board, facing downwards. Put parchment paper over the stained area and press down on spot with an iron set to a low temperature. This helps set stain in place.

Step 5: Machine Wash

Finally, put your pullover into washing machine on the cold cycle and hang to dry. You should find that the stain is gone for good!
