Using a plain white cloth, gently blot stained area. This will help absorb some of the excess juice from the berry. Do not rub the stain, as this may spread the stain further. Repeat this step until no more liquid can be absorbed.
Mix a few drops of mild dish soap with warm water. Apply mixture directly on the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse off the soap solution with cold water.
Sprinkle some baking soda or cornstarch on the stain. Let the powder sit for several minutes to absorb any remaining moisture. Brush off the powder using a soft brush or vacuum up any excess powder.
Finally, put the pongee fabric in the washing machine on a gentle cycle. Use cold water and a mild detergent. Once the fabric is washed and dried, check the stain to make sure it's gone. If the stain persists, repeat the steps above until it's completely removed.
Removing berry stains from pongee is a relatively easy process. With the right tools and a little patience, you can easily remove any berry stains and keep your fabric looking like new.
