Removing Fresh Berry Stains

If you're dealing with a fresh berry stain, start by running cold water through the fabric in the opposite direction of the stain. This will keep it from setting deeply into the fabric. Next, put a generous amount of laundry detergent on the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes.

Removing Set in Berry Stains

If the berry stain has already set in, you'll need to use a more aggressive approach. Start by soaking the panties in warm water and a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid. Then, gently rub the fabric together in a circular motion until the stain begins to come out. You may also want to use a stain-remover or pretreater for an extra boost.

Using Vinegar and Baking Soda

Another method you can use is either vinegar or baking soda. To use either one, first wet fabric and then rub the stain with a paste made of the vinegar or baking soda and water. Once the paste has been applied, let it sit for 30 minutes before washing as usual.

Additional Tips

  • When pretreating a stain with either vinegar or baking soda, make sure to test the fabric on a small, hidden area first to ensure you won't damage it.
  • If stain still won't come out after the first attempt, try the same method again. It may take a few tries before it's gone.
  • Always read the care label before treating the stain. Some fabric may require special treatment.
