The Materials

  • A clean cloth
  • Warm water
  • White vinegar or special leather cleaner

Steps

  1. If the stain is still wet, carefully blot it with a dry cloth.
  2. Mix a teaspoon of white vinegar with a cup of warm water, or use a special leather cleaner.
  3. Soak a clean cloth in the mixture, being careful not to over saturate it.
  4. Gently rub the stained area with the damp cloth.
  5. Allow the area to air dry, taking care not to leave in direct sunlight.
  6. When the shoe is dry, apply a small amount of polish to the area.

Tips

  • Always test any cleaning solution in an inconspicuous area of the shoe to make sure it won’t harm the material.
  • If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to spot clean the area.
  • Remember to buff the shoe with a soft cloth at end of the cleaning process to restore shine.
