The Materials
- A clean cloth
- Warm water
- White vinegar or special leather cleaner
Steps
- If the stain is still wet, carefully blot it with a dry cloth.
- Mix a teaspoon of white vinegar with a cup of warm water, or use a special leather cleaner.
- Soak a clean cloth in the mixture, being careful not to over saturate it.
- Gently rub the stained area with the damp cloth.
- Allow the area to air dry, taking care not to leave in direct sunlight.
- When the shoe is dry, apply a small amount of polish to the area.
Tips
- Always test any cleaning solution in an inconspicuous area of the shoe to make sure it won’t harm the material.
- If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to spot clean the area.
- Remember to buff the shoe with a soft cloth at end of the cleaning process to restore shine.
