Start by pre-treating the stain as soon as possible. Start by running cold water over the stain to reduce its intensity and prevent it from setting deeper into the fabric. Next, create a paste-like solution by mixing a teaspoon of liquid dish detergent with a few drops of white vinegar.
Use a cloth to apply the mixture directly to stain then let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing. Make sure you do not rub the mix into the fabric as this could spread stain and damage material.
Put your item of clothing into the washing machine. Select a cold water cycle and use a color safe detergent. You can also add a tablespoon of baking soda to the wash cycle to help break down stain even further.
Make sure to double-check the labels to ensure that the clothing is safe to be washed in a machine. Nylon may shrink when exposed to high temperatures, so to be on safe side, stick to cold water.
Once the cycle is complete, check your stain to make sure it is removed. If not, you can repeat the pre-treatment steps or use a stain remover. Then rinse the fabric with cool water and let it air-dry.
Avoid using a dryer and hanging your garment outdoors as direct sunlight may cause discoloration and fading.
Berry stains can be a hassle to get out of nylon fabric, but with these easy steps you’ll have your clothing looking back to new in no time. From pre-treatment to washing and drying, the process is simple and can save you a lot of time and money.
