Berries are one of the toughest stains to remove from clothing, but with a few simple techniques, you can get your Lacoste back to looking as good as new.
Before attempting to clean a berry stain on your Lacoste, be sure to blot away any excess fruit juice. Use a paper towel or cloth to press gently against the stained area, making sure not to rub the juice deeper into the fabric. Once you have removed as much of the juice as possible, you’re ready to start cleaning.
Once you’ve blotted away the excess juice, apply a pre-treating solution to the stained area. You can buy a commercial pre-treating product, or make your own using one part white vinegar and two parts warm water. Allow the mixture to sit for a few minutes, then rinse it off with cold water.
Once you have pre-treated the stain, it’s time to wash the garment. Follow the instructions on label, as Lacoste garments are often delicate and need to be washed in cool or lukewarm water. Use a gentle detergent, such as Woolite, and add a ½ cup of white vinegar to the load for extra stain-fighting power. Be sure to check the garment for stains before tossing it into the dryer, as the heat can set the stain permanently if it is not completely gone.
