Tools and Supplies

  • White vinegar
  • Dish soap
  • Old toothbrush
  • Clean cloth rag

Step One: Blot the Stain

The first step is to blot away as much of the berry juice as possible. Gently press the cloth rag against the stain, using smooth motions and working from the outside of stain inwards. Don't rub the fabric, just press firmly and lift away.

Step Two: Apply Vinegar

Once you've removed as much of the berry juice as possible, it's time to apply white vinegar to the remaining stain. Take your cloth rag and saturate it with white vinegar. Then press it gently over the stain for a few minutes. Do not scrub or rub the fabric at this stage.

Step Three: Wash with Dish Soap

Now that you've treated the stain with vinegar, you can move onto washing it with dish soap. Take a small amount of dish soap and mix it with warm water in a bowl. Dip your old toothbrush into mixture and gently scrub the stained area. Make sure the bristles are soft and not too rough on the fabric. Then rinse the area with warm water.

Step Four: Dry and Repeat

Once stained area has been rinsed, you can dry it with a clean cloth rag. If the stain is still visible, you can repeat the steps above until the stain is completely removed.

Conclusion

Cleaning berry stains from your favorite jacket is not as hard as it seems! With a few simple tools and supplies, you can quickly tackle the stain and restore your garment to its former glory. Good luck!
