When enjoying a sweet treat like berries, the last thing you want is to have your favorite J Crew clothing end up with a stain. However, with a few simple steps, you can successfully remove the dreaded berry stain with ease.

What You'll Need

  • Clean cloth
  • Warm water
  • Laundry Detergent
  • White Vinegar
  • Baking Soda
  • Rubbing Alcohol

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Using a clean cloth, try to gently blot the stain in order to remove as much of the juice as possible. If you have already washed the item, gently dab the area with a damp cloth. Do not rub or scrub the stain as this could spread it further or weaken the fabric.

Step 2: Create a Soap Solution

Mix together some warm water and laundry detergent. Stir until detergent has fully dissolved. Soak the cloth in the solution and use it to gently rub the stain from the fabric.

Step 3: Try Vinegar and Baking Soda

If detergent does not work, mix together some white vinegar and baking soda. This will create a paste that can be rubbed onto stain. Let it sit for around 15 minutes before rinsing the area with warm water.

Step 4: Use Rubbing Alcohol

If all else fails, grab some rubbing alcohol and dab it onto the stain. Once the area is full saturated, let it sit for a few minutes before blotting it with a clean cloth. When done correctly, the stain should eventually come out.

Step 5: Finish off with a Wash

After attempting to remove the stain, it's important to put the item through a wash. This will make sure that spot is removed and that no other residue remains on the fabric.
