The first step is to soak up as much of berry juice as possible with a dry cloth or paper towel. Carefully press down on the spot to avoid spreading the stain.
Once you have absorbed as much of the berry juice as possible with a dry cloth, you can use a pre-wash stain remover spray or liquid such as Shout Advanced Stain Remover or a powdered detergent like Borax. Apply cleaner directly to the stained area and allow it to sit for two to three minutes.
Once the pre-wash treatment has had a few minutes to work, it is time to rinse the garment with cold water. This helps to remove any residual berry juice and stain remover. Do not use hot water, as this can cause the stain to set even further into the fabric.
Finally, wash the garment according to the care instructions. Be sure to use a detergent specifically formulated for delicate fabrics such as Georgette, as regular laundry detergents may be too harsh. You may also want to use a fabric softener for extra softness.
Once the garment has been washed and rinsed, check the fabric to make sure all traces of berry juice have been removed. If some stain residue is still visible, repeat steps two through four until the stain is completely gone. Only then should you dry the garment according to the care instructions.
Cleaning berry stains from Georgette fabric does not have to be a hassle. By following these five simple steps, you can easily get rid of those pesky berry stains in no time.
