The first thing to do when attempting to remove berry stains from flannel is to act quickly. Don't let the stain sit for too long, as this can make it harder to get out. As soon as you can, blot the spot with a paper towel, being careful not to rub it too hard.

Next, choose an appropriate cleaning solution. For lighter colors, such as white or yellow, a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and cold water can be effective. If your flannel is darker in color, a mixture of two teaspoons of dish soap and one cup of warm water can work better. Soak a cotton swab or rag in the solution, then use it to gently dab stained area until the spot starts to fade.

If the stain persists, it's time to turn to commercial stain removers. Look for products that are designed specifically for removing berry stains. You may want to try a few before you find one that works best. Follow instructions that come with stain remover carefully and don't be afraid to test it on a small area of fabric first to check for possible discoloration.

Once the stain has been removed, launder your flannel item as usual. Be sure to read the care label for the best washing instructions. Air drying is usually the best option for fabrics like flannel, as this helps keep the fabric soft and prevents shrinkage.

With these tips, you can get rid of most berry stains on flannel with little trouble. Now, if only it was so easy to avoid them in the first place!
