What You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Dish detergent

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Scrape off any excess berry juice or pulp from the fabric with a spoon or butter knife.
  2. Create a cleaning solution of three parts water and one part white vinegar. Soak a cloth in the solution and dab the stain gently until it is saturated.
  3. Leave the solution on the fabric for five minutes to let it deeply penetrate the stain.
  4. Apply a sprinkle of baking soda onto stain.
  5. Work the baking soda into fabric with a damp cloth and let it sit for fifteen minutes.
  6. Generously lather the stained area with dish detergent and give crepe a thorough wash in sink.
  7. Rinse crepe out in cold water and place in the washing machine. Wash on a delicate cycle with cold water.
  8. Allow the crepe to air dry.
  9. Once dry, inspect crepe for any remaining berry juice. If needed, repeat steps 1-8.

Tips for Success

  • Always test an inconspicuous area of the fabric with cleaning solution before applying to stain.
  • For stubborn stains, use an enzyme-based pre-treatment before washing the crepe.
  • Check the crepe's care instructions before washing.
