Start by laying coat out on a flat surface, such as a countertop or a table. Rub the stained area with a cloth and liquid dish soap. Any kind of dishwashing liquid will do. Keep rubbing the area gently until the stain has been completely removed.
Once the stain has been removed, rinse off area with warm water. To get rid of all soap residue, dab the wet area lightly with a clean, damp rag. Make sure all soap residue is gone before allowing area to dry.
If you’re worried about stain returning or if any discoloration remains, supplement the above steps with a stain removing solution. Before using it, read the instructions carefully and test on a small, hidden area to make sure it won’t damage the fabric.
Once the area is free of the berry stain, allow the coat to air dry. Do not place it in dryer. Heat can set the stain and make it impossible to remove.
With a little elbow grease and some dish soap, you can easily erase those berry stains from your coat and make it look like new. Just follow the steps above and you’ll be well on your way to an immaculate coat!
