When berry juice or jam spills on your favorite cardigan, it can be surprisingly difficult to remove stain. Fortunately, there’s a quick and effective cleaning method that will help you avoid permanently staining your garment.
Steps for Removing Berry Stains from Cardigan
- Act quickly after the stain is noticed. If you wait too long, the stain’s color may become more deeply absorbed into the fabric.
- Create a paste by combining one part baking soda with one part laundry detergent. Spread it onto the affected area. Let the paste sit for 15 minutes.
- Scrub the area gently with a soft brush or cloth. Don’t rub fabric too aggressively or you could damage the garment.
- Rinse the area with cold water. If the stain isn’t fully removed, repeat steps 1 through 3 until stain has disappeared.
- Wash the cardigan in the washing machine as usual. Air dry or tumble dry on low heat.
If you follow these steps, you should be able to completely remove any berry stains from your cardigan.
