Step 1: Blotting and Pre-Treating

To clean berry stains from anorak fabric, start by blotting stain with a paper towel or a clean cloth. This will help remove some of juice and keep it from setting into fabric. After you’ve blotted, pre-treat the stain with a small amount of laundry detergent mixed with water. Massage the detergent mixture gently into the stained area and allow it to sit for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Washing

Now it’s time to give the anorak a proper wash! Start by soaking the garment in cold water for an hour or so. Once it’s soaked through, add your usual amount of laundry detergent to the water and agitate the clothing. Let it soak, or “stew,” for another hour and then give it a good rinse. If you have a front-loading washer, you may need to do this step twice.

Step 3: Drying

Once your anorak is rinsed, it’s time to dry. Hang your garment on a hanger or lay it flat to dry. Avoid ironing the anorak until you’re sure that all traces of the stain have been removed. If the stain still remains after washing and drying, you can try repeating the process.

Conclusion

Cleaning berry stains from an anorak doesn’t have to be a difficult task. By following steps outlined above, you can quickly and easily remove stain and keep your anorak looking great.
