Using a clean cloth or paper towel, gently blot the stain. Do not rub, as this may spread the stain over a larger area. Keep blotting until you have absorbed as much sauce as possible.
Mix together a solution of one part liquid laundry detergent and three parts warm water. Using a soft cloth, sponge the solution onto the stained area and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing.
Once the pretreatment is complete, launder the pants according to care instructions on the label. Use cold water and a gentle cycle, and choose a mild detergent. If possible, add half a cup of white vinegar or half a cup of baking soda to help break down BBQ sauce stain.
After washing pants, hang them to dry or tumble dry on low heat. Avoid high temperatures, as this may set the stain and make it more difficult to remove.
