Step 1: Treat the Stain Immediately

The first step in getting rid of a barbecue sauce stain is to act quickly. If left untreated, the stain will set into the fabric and become much more difficult to remove.

Step 2: Start by Blotting Up Excess Sauce

Using a clean cloth or paper towel, gently blot at stain to absorb as much of sauce as possible. Don't rub or scrub to avoid pushing the stain deeper into the fabric.

Step 3: Pretreat the Stain with a Detergent Solution

Mix a few drops of laundry detergent with some cold water and gently massage it into the stained area. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Step 4: Wash Uniform According to the Manufacturer's Instructions

After pre-treating stain, wash the entire garment as normal according to the manufacturer's instructions. Check the instructions for temperature settings, detergents, and other considerations.

Step 5: Air Dry (or Use Low Heat)

Allow garment to air dry or use the lowest heat setting if drying in dryer. This will prevent the heat from setting the stain and making it nearly impossible to remove.
