How to Get BBQ Sauce Stains Out of Your Trench Coat
Few things can ruin a beautiful trench coat like stubborn BBQ sauce stains. But fear not -- with the right supplies and a little bit of elbow grease, you can get those stains out and have your coat looking good as new.

Things You Will Need
- Laundry detergent or liquid dishwashing soap
- White vinegar
- Water
- Scrub brush
- Sponge
Step by Step Instructions
- Gently scrape off any excess sauce from the trench coat.
- Mix 1 tablespoon of laundry detergent or liquid dishwashing soap with two cups of warm water.
- Saturate stained area with the soapy water and let sit for four to five minutes.
- Using a scrub brush, gently scrub the stained area with a circular motion.
- Rinse the area with cool water and let dry.
- If the stain is still visible, repeat steps 2 and 3.
- If the stain is still on the coat after steps 1-6, mix equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a bowl, and saturate the stained area with the mixture for five minutes.
- Using a sponge, scrub the stain in a circular motion until it disappears.
- Rinse the area with cold water.
- Let the area air dry.
Tips & Warnings
- Prevent BBQ sauce stains in the future by turning your trench coat inside out when eating.
- Be sure to check the label on your coat for cleaning instructions before beginning cleaning process.
- Do not put any trench coats with BBQ sauce stains in the dryer.
