The first step in cleaning a barbecue sauce stain from taffeta is to immediately soak the affected area with cold water as soon as you see the stain.
Once the area has been thoroughly soaked, use a paper towel or a dry cloth to blot the stain gently. Do not rub or scrub stain because this can cause more damage and spread the stain. Repeat this process until the stain is no longer visible.
If the stain persists after blotting, prepare a solution of 2/3 cup white vinegar mixed with 1/3 cup cold water. Soak a clean cloth or sponge with the solution and gently dab the stained area. You can also apply a few drops of dishwashing detergent, rubbing alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide to the cloth or sponge if desired.
Once the solution has soaked into the stain for a few minutes, rinse fabric with cold water and repeat the process if necessary. Make sure that the fabric is completely air dried before putting it back in use.
Cleaning up barbecue sauce stains from taffeta isn't a difficult task. With a little patience and some simple household supplies, you can quickly remove unsightly barbecue sauce stains and enjoy your meal without worrying about cleaning up afterwards!
