Sports bras are an essential part of every active woman's wardrobe. They provide important support and protection during activities, particularly for larger-busted women. But they can be prone to stains, especially when grilling season rolls around. Barbecue sauce is full of oil and sugar, making it difficult to remove from clothing such as sports bras.

Steps for Removing Barbecue Sauce Stains from Your Sports Bra

  1. The first step is to act quickly. Soak the stained area in cold water as soon as possible after the stain occurs.
  2. Prepare a solution of white vinegar and water (using 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water). Soak the stained area in this solution for about 15 minutes.
  3. Gently scrub the stained area with a soft bristled brush or a cloth.
  4. Once you’ve removed as much of the sauce as possible, rinse the area with cold water.
  5. If the stain is still visible, apply a small amount of dishwashing detergent to the stained area and allow it to soak for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Rinse the area with cold water.
  7. If the stain persists, you may need to use a laundry pre-treatment product or non-chlorine bleach. Rinse the area with cold water once you’ve applied the treatment.
  8. Finally, launder sports bra as usual.

Tips for Preventing Barbecue Sauce Stains on Your Sports Bra

  • If you’re wearing a sports bra while grilling, be sure to wear a protective apron that covers front of your body. This will help prevent any splashes of sauce from getting onto your apparel.
  • If the sauce does come into contact with your sports bra, wipe it off immediately if possible.
  • Follow washing instructions provided on the garment’s label. This will ensure that you don’t damage the fabric with too much cleaning.
