The majority of conventional stain removal methods require you to use harsh chemicals and temperatures that can damage delicate fabrics like CDC. Fortunately, there are easy and safe solutions for removing pesky barbecue sauce stains from your favorite fabric.

Steps for Removing Barbecue Sauce Stains from Silk Crepe De Chine

  1. Carefully blot up or scrape off any excess BBQ sauce. Using a spoon or dull knife, scrape away any remnants without pressing too hard
  2. Make a cleaning solution by combining equal parts white vinegar and cold water. Dip a cloth in the solution and blot the stained area, taking care not to scrub the fabric.
  3. Lay the CDC flat on an ironing board and wet the opposite side of the stain with the cleaning solution.
  4. Cover the stain with a damp paper towel and press it lightly with a hot iron, repeating the process with a clean paper towel until the stain is removed.
  5. If any stain remains, use a mild laundry detergent with liquid enzymes on a damp cloth and rub lightly.
  6. Rinse, pat dry with a cloth and then air-dry the garment.

The most important thing to remember when removing BBQ sauce and other stubborn stains from CDC is to work quickly before stain has the chance to set in. Be sure to read the label instructions on your garment before attempting any of the above methods and ensure they’re suitable for particular item.

With these simple steps, you won’t have to worry about unwanted BBQ sauce stains on your CDC garments.
