Steps to Remove the Stain
- Run the stained area immediately under cold water for several minutes.
- Using a small amount of detergent mixed into cold water, create a lather and rub it gently onto the stained area.
- Rinse the soap off with cold water.
- Mix white vinegar with cold water in a bowl or cup. Soak the stain for 10-15 minutes, making sure it is fully submerged.
- Remove the shift dress from the vinegar mixture and dab gently with a clean cloth to remove any excess liquid.
- Place the dress in the washing machine with a mild detergent and wash according to package instructions.
- Dry dress completely in a warm, but not hot, dryer.
Tips to Prevent BBQ Sauce Stain
- Wear darker colors while eating BBQ, as lighter colors attract more attention to sauce stains.
- If possible, use a napkin or paper towel to dab away any sauce before it has a chance to set.
- Tuck in bibs or an apron to avoid getting your clothing stained.
- If possible, lay a plastic tablecloth before setting up for your meal.
