Before treating the stain, it is best to start by pre-treating stained area. To do this, start by blotting stain with an absorbent paper towel or cloth. This will help to pull out as much of the barbecue sauce as possible. After blotting, pour a small amount of laundry detergent onto the stain and then rub fabric together to create a lather. Once the lather has been created, let it sit for 10-15 minutes before laundering.
It is important to choose the correct settings when washing the scrubs. For tougher stains, set washing machine to the hottest temperature setting available. This will help to remove tougher, ground-in stains. Additionally, add a stain removal product to the laundry load, such as OxyClean. This will help to break down the barbecue sauce and make removal easier.
Once the scrubs have been washed, allow them to dry on a line or in a tumble dryer. It is best to avoid using an iron on the scrubs since this can cause the stain to become even more set in. If you must iron the scrubs, however, set the iron on the lowest temperature setting possible.
