Gather Your Supplies

Before you start cleaning, make sure you have all the necessary supplies. You’ll need white vinegar, a rag or sponge, baking soda, detergent, and water.

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Using a dry rag or sponge, blot the stained area to remove as much of the sauce as possible. Be gentle and try not to rub the fabric too hard or you may spread the stain even further.

Step 2: Spray White Vinegar

Next, spray the stained area with white vinegar. Allow the vinegar to sit for a few minutes before continuing.

Step 3: Combine Baking Soda and Detergent

In a medium-sized bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of detergent. Then add ½ cup of warm water and mix until combined. Stir the mixture until it becomes a paste.

Step 4: Apply the Paste to the Stain

Take the paste and apply it directly onto the stain. Rub the paste gently into the stain in a circular motion. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes.

Step 5: Rinse the Paste Away

Rinse off the paste with cold water. Use a rag or sponge to help wash away the paste.

Step 6: Check for Remaining Stains

If any of the stain remains, repeat steps 2-5. Once the stain is completely gone, launder your fabric as normal.
