What You'll Need

  • Laundry detergent
  • Sink full of hot water
  • White cloths

Step 1: Soak the Item in Hot Water

The first step to removing BBQ sauce stains from rayon is to soak the affected item in hot water. Fill your sink with hot water and add about 1 tablespoon of laundry detergent. Then, submerge the BBQ stained area in hot water and let it soak for several minutes.

Step 2: Scrub With Detergent

Once you've soaked the stain in hot water, take a white cloth or paper towel and dip it in the laundry detergent solution. Gently scrub the BBQ stained area with detergent-soaked cloth. Be sure to apply light pressure so as not to damage the fabric.

Step 3: Rinse & Repeat As Needed

Once you've scrubbed the stain with detergent, rinse the item under warm running water. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps 1 and 2 until the stain has disappeared. When you're finished, launder item as normal.
