Removing BBQ Sauce Stains from Overalls

Removing BBQ sauce from overalls is a relatively straightforward process. The most important thing is to act quickly before the stain sets in and becomes more difficult to remove. Here’s what you’ll need to do:

  1. Lay overalls flat on a clean surface.
  2. Blot the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel to absorb any excess sauce.
  3. Then apply some vinegar directly to the affected area, using a brush if necessary. Let it sit for a few minutes.
  4. Rinse out vinegar and then apply detergent. Work it into the stain with a soft cloth or brush and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Finally, rinse the detergent out with cold water and then launder overalls as usual.

Alternative Remedies

If vinegar and detergent do not work, there are a few other solutions that you can try. Rubbing alcohol is a good option, as well as laundry pre-treatment sprays. Both should be used sparingly and should be tested in an inconspicuous spot on the overalls beforehand.

Additional Tips

When dealing with BBQ sauce stains, heat is your enemy. Hot water and hot air can cause stains to set in, making them harder to remove. Stick to cold water and cold air when working on the stains and keep laundry settings as low as possible.
