Step 1: Act Quickly

When you first notice stain, act quickly because BBQ sauce is an oily substance and can get deep into the fibers of the fabric. Taking immediate action will help prevent further staining or fading.

Step 2: Absorb the Excess

Using a paper towel, gently blot the stained area. This absorbs any excess BBQ sauce and prevents it from spreading further or seeping deeper into the fabric.

Step 3: Pre-Treat with Stain Remover

This step is important if you want a successful result. Apply a specialized stain remover directly onto the stain. Work it in with a scrub brush or old toothbrush to be sure it gets deeply into the fabric. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.

Step 4: Wash in Hot Water

Set your washer for a hot water cycle with detergent. Load Nautica item into washer and let it cycle through. If the stain is still apparent, repeat the pre-treating and washing steps again.

Step 5: Hang to Dry Outdoors

Once the cycle is done, hang your Nauticaitem up outdoors to dry. Direct sunlight helps remove any remaining stubborn stains from the fabric.
