When you’ve got a barbecue sauce stain on your Keds, the first thing you should do is grab a stain remover. Most stores sell specially formulated products that are designed to be effective on greasy stains like barbecue sauce. Apply the stain remover according to the instructions, then rinse it off with warm water. If the stain is still visible, repeat process until it is gone.
If you don’t have any stain remover on hand, you can make your own cleaning paste out of baking soda and white vinegar. Simply mix equal parts of each ingredient until you get a thick paste, then rub it onto the stained area. Let the paste sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. If some of stain remains, repeat the process until it is removed.
Dish soap is a mild detergent that can help remove greasy stains like barbecue sauce. Dip a cloth or sponge in warm water and add a few drops of dish soap. Wipe the stained area with soapy cloth, then rinse it off with warm water. Repeat the process if necessary.
