Step 1: Scrape off Excess Sauce

The first step in removing barbecue sauce stains from hanbok is to scrape off as much of the excess sauce as possible. Use a butter knife, spoon, or even a credit card to gently scrape off the sauce. Do not use sharp objects such as knives or scissors as this could damage your hanbok.

Step 2: Create a Soap Solution

Once you have removed as much of the sauce as possible, you will need to create a soap solution. Mix together one tablespoon of liquid dish soap with two tablespoons of white vinegar and three cups of warm water in a bowl or bucket. Then, stir the mixture until it is well blended.

Step 3: Soak Stain

Next, soak a clean cloth or sponge in the soap solution and then blot stain until it is fully saturated. Allow soap solution to penetrate the fabric for 10-15 minutes.

Step 4: Rinse and Repeat

Once the fabric has been soaked in the soap solution, rinse it with cold water. Repeat the soaking and rinsing process as needed until all of the sauce has been removed. If the stain persists, add more soap solution or try a stronger cleaning solution.

Step 5: Let Dry

Finally, hang the hanbok up to dry. Once dry, inspect it to make sure the stain has been completely removed.

With these simple steps, you can quickly and safely remove barbecue sauce stains from your hanbok. Good luck!
