What You'll Need

  • 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of dish soap
  • 1 cup of hot water
  • A sponge
  • A clean cloth

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Start by using a clean cloth to carefully blot away excess moisture and any remaining pieces of sauce from the surface of the garter.

Step 2: Mix the Cleaning Solution

In a bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, 1 teaspoon of dish soap, and 1 cup of hot water. Stir until the mixture is well combined.

Step 3: Apply the Solution

Dampen the sponge with the cleaning solution and gently scrub it over the stained area. If stain does not come out immediately, let the solution sit for a few minutes before scrubbing again. Be sure not to press too hard as you do not want to damage the fabric.

Step 4: Rinse the Garter

Once you've scrubbed the stain away, rinse the garter under cold water. This will help to remove any remaining soap and vinegar from fabric.

Step 5: Air Dry

Leave the garter out to air dry. Do not wring out fabric or place it in a clothes dryer.
