Getting barbeque sauce on your favourite Fred Perry T-shirt can be a real bummer. But all hope isn’t lost; you can restore your Fred Perry clothes to their former glory with a few simple cleaning steps.
Once you notice barbeque sauce stain on your clothing, use a spoon or dull knife to scoop away as much of the sauce as possible. If the sauce is already dry, gently scrape away at the stained area.
Mix together a solution of one tablespoon of liquid dish detergent and one tablespoon of white vinegar in two cups of warm water. Dip in a cloth and dab it into the stained area. Carefully rub the cloth together in circular motions to lift the stain before rinsing off with cold water.
After pre-treating the stain, pour some laundry detergent directly onto the fabric and rub it in. Leave the detergent on for an hour or until it has had time to soak into the fabric.
Rinse the stained area thoroughly with cold water and put garment in the washing machine to be washed. Use the hottest setting recommended by the garment instructions. When the wash is done, hang or tumble dry on lowest setting. Once the garment is completely dry, check the stain to see if it has completely disappeared. If not, repeat the process.
