Tip #1: Clean With Soap and Water

The first step to getting rid of barbecue sauce stains on your earplugs is to clean it off with soap and water. This will help to loosen the sauce before you move onto more intensive cleaning methods. To do this, simply wet a soft cloth or sponge with warm water and add a squirt of gentle dishwashing liquid. Gently scrub the earplugs to remove any visible sauce residue. Rinse with cool water and allow them to air dry.

Tip #2: Spot Clean With Nail Polish Remover

For tougher spots, you may need to use a stronger solvent like nail polish remover. Make sure to get non-acetone remover as the acetone variety can damage your earplugs. Dip a cotton ball in remover and dab the stained areas until the sauce is gone. You can also use a cotton swab for more precise applications. Once you’re done, rinse the earplugs off with cool water and allow them to air dry.

Tip #3: Wipe With Alcohol

If the previous two methods aren’t doing the trick, then you can try wiping down earplugs with rubbing alcohol. To do this, moisten a cotton swab or cloth with rubbing alcohol and carefully blot the affected area. Make sure to avoid getting the alcohol on any metal parts, as it can corrode them. Once you’re done, rinse off the earplugs with cold water and let them air dry.

Tip #4: Use White Vinegar

White vinegar is another effective method for removing barbecue sauce stains from earplugs. Simply soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and blot the stained areas until the stains fade. You can also try using equal parts water and white vinegar in a spray bottle and spritz the areas with solution. Let the vinegar sit for a few minutes, then rinse off earplugs with cold water and let them air dry.

Tip #5: Baking Soda Paste

If all else fails, you can try using a baking soda paste to get rid of those stubborn barbecue sauce stains. To make the paste, mix equal parts baking soda and water in a bowl. Apply the paste to stained areas and scrub gently with a soft bristle brush. Leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing off with cold water. Let the earplugs air dry and they should be good as new!
