What You Will Need

  • A butter knife or spoon
  • A toothbrush
  • Dishwashing soap
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • A white cloth or sponge

Step-by-Step Process for Removing BBQ Sauce Stains from Curtains

  1. Use a butter knife or spoon to gently scrape away any excess BBQ sauce from the fabric, making sure not to rub any of it into the material.
  2. Mix a small amount of dishwashing liquid with warm water, then use a toothbrush to scrub the remaining stain with the solution.
  3. If the stain remains, try soaking the spot with white vinegar for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Rinse the area with cold water.
  5. Mix together equal parts white vinegar and baking soda and apply it to the stain.
  6. Blot the spot with a white cloth or sponge and rinse the cloth with cold water in between blots.
  7. Continue blotting and rinsing until the stain is gone.
  8. Do a final rinse of the area using cold water.
  9. Allow the fabric to air dry or dry with a cool iron.
