Quick Trick: Get That Barbecue Sauce Out of Your Down Jacket in No Time!

It happens to best of us: you're enjoying that delicious barbecue sauce and some of it ends up on your down jacket. But don't despair, getting out barbecue sauce stains from a down jacket is a lot simpler than you think if you have the right approach!

What You'll Need

  • Dish detergent
  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Microfiber cloth
  • Laundry detergent

Instructions

  1. Start by checking the label of down jacket to figure out what kind of fabric it is made of.
  2. Create a mix of dish detergent and warm water and put some of it on the stained area.
  3. Rub the detergent in gently with a microfiber cloth.
  4. Rinse detergent from the stained area with cold water.
  5. If the stain still remains, create a mix of baking soda and warm water and apply it to the stained area.
  6. Rub mixture into the fabric gently and let it sit for a few minutes.
  7. Rinse with cold water again.
  8. If the stain is still present, use a mixture of vinegar and hydrogen peroxide and rub it into fabric.
  9. Allow to sit for a few minutes and rinse with cold water.
  10. Wash jacket in the washing machine with laundry detergent.
