What You'll Need
- Cold water
- Salt
- White vinegar
- Liquid laundry detergent
- Stain remover spray
Instructions
- Start by blotting up as much of the stain as possible with a dry paper towel. Do not rub the fabric – this will spread the stain further.
- Create a cleaning solution by dissolving a teaspoon of salt in a cup of cold water.
- Dip a clean cloth into the salt solution and gently dab the fabric, working from the outside of the stain toward the center.
- Mix one-third of a cup of white vinegar with two-thirds of a cup of water. Dip a clean cloth into mixture, and use it to dab the stain.
- Once the stain has been treated with the salt and vinegar solution, apply a few drops of liquid laundry detergent directly onto the stained area.
- Gently massage the detergent into fabric.
- Fill a spray bottle with cold water, and spray the affected area until fabric is thoroughly saturated.
- Use a clean towel to blot up the water.
- Repeat steps 4-8 until the stain lifts.
- If stain persists, apply a stain remover spray directly to the fabric and let sit for 10 minutes before washing as normal.
