What You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Dish detergent
  • Coldwater
  • Sponge
  • Clean cloths

Step 1: Blot the Stain

The first step is to blot the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel. This will absorb as much of the barbecue sauce as possible and prevent it from spreading further.

Step 2: Create a Cleaning Solution

Mix together a solution of one part white vinegar and two parts cold water in a bowl. Add a few drops of dish detergent and stir until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Step 3: Soak the Stain

Using a sponge, soak the stained area of the corduroy in the cleaning solution for several minutes. Do not rub or scrub fabric, as this could cause the stain to spread and damage the fabric.

Step 4: Rinse with Cold Water

After soaking, rinse the corduroy with cold water until the stain is completely gone. Do not use hot water, as this could set the stain.

Step 5: Dry the Fabric

Gently pat the area dry with a clean cloth. Allow the fabric to air dry naturally before wearing.
