- Treat any excess sauce on coat with a paper towel or cloth, being sure to blot, not rub, stain.
- Rinse the garment in cold water to dilute stain.
- Mix a solution of warm water, laundry detergent, and white vinegar in a bowl. Stir until the ingredients are combined.
- Apply the cleaning mixture to area of the coat that has been stained, and let it sit for 10–15 minutes.
- Rinse the mixture off with cold water, and repeat if necessary.
- Once the stain has been removed, rinse the coat with cold water again, and then allow it to air dry.

- It is best to treat the stain as soon as possible, so that it does not have time to set into the fabric.
- If stain persists, try soaking the garment in a mixture of baking soda and water for one hour, then launder as usual.
- If you are concerned about damage to the coat, take it to a professional dry cleaner for treatment.
