Step 1: Blot Up Excess Sauce

The first step is to avoid making the stain worse by blotting away any excess sauce. Dip a clean cloth into cold water and press it against the stain. Do not scrub or rub—just gently press and then lift the cloth away. If there is still sauce visible, repeat this step until the stain is blotted away.

Step 2: Pre-Treat with Detergent

Once the excess sauce is gone, pre-treat the stain with a liquid detergent. Pour a small amount of detergent onto the stained areas and wait for five minutes to let it soak in. Rub a soft cloth gently over the stain to help the detergent work its magic.

Step 3: Rinse with Cold Water

Next, rinse the affected area with cold water. Begin by running the area under a gentle stream of cold water. Then, take a damp cloth and gently rub in a circular motion around the stained area, gently rinsing away detergent.

Step 4: Wash in Washing Machine

Once detergent has been rinsed away, throw the cargo pants in your washing machine. Set the load to a cold wash and use a mild detergent. After the load is finished, hang the pants to dry and check for any remaining sauce stains. If there are still stains visible, repeat steps 1-4.
