If you accidentally spill barbecue sauce on your business suit, don’t worry – it can be removed! The first step is to act fast. The longer the stain sits on fabric, the harder it is to remove. Blot immediately with a damp cloth, and don’t rub the fabric as this will spread the stain.

Next, you should do a spot test on a small area of fabric using cleaning solution you intend to use. This will help you determine if the solution is safe to use on your clothing. Once you have done the spot test, then it’s time to work on stained area.

It is recommended to use a liquid laundry detergent or a special stain remover specifically formulated for removing BBQ sauce stains. Mix the stain remover or detergent with water in a bowl and gently apply it to the stained area with a cloth. Use circular motions and be careful not to spread the stain further. Rinse area with cold water, and repeat the process until the stain has been removed.

You can also use baking soda and white vinegar to help remove the stain. Add a few tablespoons of baking soda to a bowl of warm water, and stir until baking soda dissolves. Then use a cloth to dab the stained area of the clothing with the mixture. Rinse the area with cold water, and add some white vinegar to a clean cloth. Dab stained area again, and rinse with cold water one more time.

Finally, when the stain has been removed, it’s time to wash the clothing item. Wash according to the clothing label’s instructions and air dry. For best results, check to see if stain is still there before putting the clothing in the dryer.
