Start by using a spoon or butter knife to gently scrape off any excess sauce that has not been absorbed. Make sure not to push the sauce further into the belt’s material as this will make it harder to remove.
After you’ve removed any excess sauce, use a paper towel or cloth to blot at the stained area. This will help to absorb some of remaining sauce and will reduce the amount of scrubbing you will need to do later.
Mix together warm water with a mild liquid detergent. Use a toothbrush or cloth to spread the cleaning solution onto the stained area. Make sure that you don’t use too much detergent as this can damage or discolor the belt.
Once the cleaning solution has been applied to the stained area, begin to gently scrub belt with a soft toothbrush. Make sure not to be too harsh as this could damage material of the belt. After you’ve scrubbed the stained area, rinse off any remaining detergent with cool water.
After you have finished rinsing the belt, lay it out flat on a towel and allow it to air dry. Do not place belt in the dryer as this can cause shrinkage and damage to material. Repeat the above steps as needed for stubborn stains.
Cleaning barbecue sauce stains off of belts doesn’t have to be a difficult task. With just a few simple steps, you can get those stains out quickly and easily!
