Step 1: Blot the Stain

You should start by blotting the stain with a clean, dry cloth to prevent the stain from setting further into the fabric. The sooner stain is blotted, the better the chances the stain will come out. Be sure not to rub the fabric, as this may cause the stain to spread.

Step 2: Apply Detergent Solution

Mix a detergent cleaning solution using one teaspoon of color-safe detergent and one cup of warm water. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and apply it to stained area. Let the solution sit on the stain for a few minutes.

Step 3: Rinse Stained Area

After letting the solution sit, rinse the affected area with cold water. Continue to run water over the area until the stain is no longer visible.

Step 4: Launder the Item

Once the stain has been removed, launder the item according to its care instructions. If the stain remains, repeat steps 1 through 3.
