The first thing you need to do is determine what type of barbecue sauce you are dealing with. Is it a tomato or ketchup-based sauce, vinegar-based, or mustard-based? Knowing this will help you choose the best way to approach the stain.
Once you have identified type of sauce, you can choose an appropriate cleaning solution. For a tomato or ketchup-based sauce, mix a solution of one quart of warm water with 1/4 cup of white vinegar. If the sauce is vinegar-based, combine one tablespoon of liquid dish soap with two cups of warm water. And if it's a mustard-based sauce, mix one tablespoon of ammonia with one cup of warm water.
Now, use a clean white cloth to blot stained area. This will help lift the sauce from the fabric and onto the cloth. Be sure to work from the outside of the stain inwards to prevent spreading the mess. You may find that the stain is deeply embedded, in which case you can use a toothbrush to gently scrub the area.
Once you've blotted away as much of the stain as possible, rinse the area with cool water and blot it dry. Finally, soak soiled area in the cleaning solution you prepared earlier for 10 minutes before washing it according to the label instructions. After laundering, check to make sure stain has been completely removed. If not, repeat the process again.
With this easy method, you should be able to quickly and easily remove barbecue sauce stains from Angora fabrics. Good luck!
