The first step in removing BBQ sauce from acrylic is to blot the stain with a damp paper towel. The goal here is to absorb as much of the sauce as possible. Be careful not to rub stain, as this could cause it to spread further.
Mix together a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Dip a soft cloth or sponge into solution and use it to gently scrub stained area. Use small circles to ensure that all parts of the stain are treated. Rinse cloth or sponge out in hot water between scrubbings.
If the stain still remains after the detergent and water treatment, try using a chemical solvent cleaner. Apply the cleaning agent to the stained area and allow it to sit for 15 minutes. Then, rinse the area with warm water. Repeat this step if needed.
If the stain still persists, apply a stain remover such as Oxi Clean onto the affected area. Follow directions on the label for best results. Allow the stain remover to sit for 10 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
