The first step is to act quickly. Time is of the essence when dealing with barbecue sauce stains. You want to make sure that the sauce does not have time to settle into the fabric too deeply. If possible, avoid washing item until you have a chance to work on the stain.

Once you are ready to work on the stain, begin by blotting up any excess fluid or residue from the fabric. Use a clean, dry cloth or paper towel and dab affected area gently. Do not rub the stain as this could spread it further, causing the stain to become more severe.

Now you are ready to make a cleaning solution. Combine equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a dish or similar container. Use a soft-bristled brush to apply the solution to stained area. Make sure to scrub gently, never rub the fabric. After the solution has been applied, rinse the area with cool water and allow the fabric to air dry.

If the stain persists, try pre-treating the area with a stain-removing laundry detergent. Apply a small amount directly onto stain and let sit for 10-15 minutes. Once the product has had a chance to soak in, launder as usual. If the stain still remains, repeat this process until the stain has been completely removed.

By following these simple steps, you can easily remove annoying barbecue sauce stains from your favorite Abercrombie & Fitch items. The next time you accidentally spill sauce on your clothes, you'll know exactly what to do.
