Adhesive tape can be an incredibly useful tool for all sorts of tasks around the house. However, it can also leave sticky residue on whatever surface it comes into contact with. This can cause discoloration and staining on delicate fabrics like voile.
Luckily, there are a few simple methods you can use to remove adhesive tape stains from voile. Here’s what to do:
The first step is to carefully remove as much of the adhesive tape as possible. Use tweezers or the edge of a blunt knife to gently peel away the tape from the voile fabric.
Take care not to tear the fabric, as this could cause further damage. When you’ve removed as much of the tape as possible, discard it in the bin.
The next step is to apply heat to the stained area. You can use either an iron set on lowest heat setting, or a hair dryer set to low heat. Hold the heat source about 10 inches away from the voile and let it hover over the area for 30-60 seconds.
The heat will loosen up any remaining adhesive residue, making it easier to remove. Make sure not to hold the heat source too close to the fabric, as this could cause it to melt or burn.
After applying the heat, use a dry cloth or scrub brush to lightly scrub the stained area. This will help lift and remove any remaining residue. Be sure to scrub gently, as rubbing too hard could cause the fabric to tear or fray.
Once you’ve scrubbed away as much of the residue as possible, it’s time to clean the area with soap and water. Fill a bowl with warm water and add a few drops of mild detergent. Dip a sponge or cloth in the soapy water and gently rub it over the stained area.
Rinse the fabric with clean water to remove any remaining soap residue. Finally, hang the voile outside in the sun to dry.
Never do laundry again. Save time for things you ❤️
