Stains from adhesive tape can often find their way onto clothes, such as t-shirts. While it seems like it could leave a permanent mark, there are a few different methods to get rid of adhesive tape stains.
Rubbing alcohol is a great way to tackle adhesive tape stains. Before you begin, make sure that the fabric is colorfast by testing a small area first. To use this method, first dampen a cotton ball or cloth with the rubbing alcohol. Gently dab at the stained area. If the stain doesn’t come off immediately, repeat this step and let the rubbing alcohol sit on the stain for a few moments before dabbing it off.
If the stain still remains, another way to remove an adhesive tape stain is with nail polish remover. This method works best on light-colored fabric. Put some nail polish remover onto a clean cloth and test a small area to make sure the fabric won’t be discolored. Then, gently press the cloth to the stain and lift it away.
Vinegar and baking soda can also do trick. First, mix some vinegar and baking soda together in equal parts. Then, apply this paste to the adhesive tape stain and let it sit for a few minutes. Afterwards, take a clean cloth or sponge, dampen it with warm water and scrub away the paste. The stain should come right out.
Getting rid of adhesive tape stains on t-shirts can be easier than you think. Just follow the three simple methods listed above and you’ll have your t-shirt in tip-top shape again.
