Traditional dress speaks to our culture, history, and identity. It’s important to keep it in pristine condition. But sometimes, accidents happen, and you might find yourself with a sticky adhesive tape mess on your dress. To help you out, here’s a quick guide to removing adhesive tape stains without having to bring your dress to dry cleaners.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Before you get started, make sure you have the necessary materials on hand. You will need some cloth, rubbing alcohol, a cotton swab, and laundry detergent.

Step 2: Blot the Tape Stain

Using the cloth, carefully blot any residue of the adhesive tape off of the fabric. Do not rub or scrub as this may cause material to fray.

Step 3: Apply Rubbing Alcohol

Once you’ve blotted away as much of the residue as possible, apply some rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and gently dab at the stain until it lifts away.

Step 4: Rinse with Water

Run cold water through fabric to rinse away any remaining residue. Make sure to do this step thoroughly.

Step 5: Wash in Laundry Detergent

Finally, if the stain persists, run the fabric through a washing machine cycle with laundry detergent. Depending on the material, you may need to use cold or warm water.

And there you have it! With these five simple steps, you’ll be able to remove adhesive tape stains from traditional dress with ease.
