Lemon juice is a natural liquid with acidic properties that help remove sticky substances. Using a clean cloth or sponge, blot stain with lemon juice until adhesive is dissolved. Make sure to blot it - do not rub. After applying lemon juice, blot the stain with a damp cloth.
Olive oil can also help dissolve adhesive tape residue. Once again using a clean cloth or sponge, blot the stain. Make sure to move cloth around in circles so as not to rub the fabric too hard. Blot stain until it is completely gone.
As a last resort, attempt to remove the stain by blotting it with white vinegar and a clean cloth or sponge. Repeat process until the stain is gone.
