What You'll Need to Clean Adhesive Tape Stains

  • Dish Soap
  • Soft Toothbrush
  • White Vinegar
  • Soft Cloth

Instructions

  1. Before beginning, check your laundry instructions for your swimwear. If the fabric is delicate, handle with care.
  2. Mix 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap with 2 cups of cold water in a bowl.
  3. Using a soft toothbrush, dip it in the soapy mixture and then gently scrub the adhesive tape stain.
  4. Rinse the swim trunks and then let them air-dry.
  5. If the stain remains, mix equal parts white vinegar and water and using a soft cloth, apply it to the stained area.
  6. Allow the solution to sit for 15 -30 minutes before rinsing the stain with cold water.
  7. Once the stain is gone, hang your swim trunks in the sun to dry.

Tips

  • Be sure to use gentle strokes when scrubbing the stain so as not to cause damage to the fabric.
  • White vinegar can also be used as a fabric softener!
  • If stain persists, try spot treating it with laundry detergent or an oxygen bleach.
