What You'll Need to Clean Adhesive Tape Stains
- Dish Soap
- Soft Toothbrush
- White Vinegar
- Soft Cloth
Instructions
- Before beginning, check your laundry instructions for your swimwear. If the fabric is delicate, handle with care.
- Mix 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap with 2 cups of cold water in a bowl.
- Using a soft toothbrush, dip it in the soapy mixture and then gently scrub the adhesive tape stain.
- Rinse the swim trunks and then let them air-dry.
- If the stain remains, mix equal parts white vinegar and water and using a soft cloth, apply it to the stained area.
- Allow the solution to sit for 15 -30 minutes before rinsing the stain with cold water.
- Once the stain is gone, hang your swim trunks in the sun to dry.
Tips
- Be sure to use gentle strokes when scrubbing the stain so as not to cause damage to the fabric.
- White vinegar can also be used as a fabric softener!
- If stain persists, try spot treating it with laundry detergent or an oxygen bleach.
