What You Will Need:

  • Dry-cleaning solvent
  • Clean white cloth
  • Iron
  • Rubbing alcohol

Step 1: Scrape off the Tape Residue

Take something with a hard edge, like a butter knife, and gently scrape off as much of the residue as possible. Be careful not to tear the fabric.

Step 2: Apply the Dry-Cleaning Solvent

Using a clean white cloth, dampen the cloth with the dry-cleaning solvent and apply it directly to stain. Gently rub the cloth against the stain until sticky residue is gone.

Step 3: Heat Stain with an Iron

Turn your iron on low heat and place the stained area on a clean white cloth. Hold the iron over the affected area for 30-60 seconds. This will heat up the dry-cleaning solvent and help to dissolve the residue.

Step 4: Rinse with Rubbing Alcohol

After heating the stain with the iron, use a cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol to rinse the area. This will help to remove any remaining residue.
