What You Will Need

  • A spoon or knife
  • Clean dishcloth or sponge
  • Laundry detergent
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Hydrogen peroxide

Step 1: Remove the Adhesive

Using a spoon or knife, gently scrape off any remaining adhesive. Be careful not to tear the fabric in the process. Then, use the clean cloth or sponge to gently rub away any remaining adhesive.

Step 2: Wash the Skirt

Wash the skirt in cold water with laundry detergent, and be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for best results. Once the washing cycle is complete, hang the skirt up to dry.

Step 3: Apply Rubbing Alcohol or Hydrogen Peroxide

If there is still a stain left after the wash, apply either rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide directly on the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes before washing it again in cold water with laundry detergent.

Step 4: Check for Stain Removal

After the second wash, check to see if the stain has been removed. If it hasn't, repeat steps 2-4 until the stain is gone.

With these easy steps, you can now easily and quickly remove adhesive tape stains from skirts.
